Surgical Advisor recommends only private hospitals that continually deliver the highest clinical standards and exceed the minimum annual inspection requirements of the government's hospital regulatory body in England, Scotland and Wales.

Prospective patients are actively encouraged to seek information on any recommended hospital and Surgical Advisor will provide open advice on a hospitals latest inspection report, or if you prefer, educate you in how to independently double-check this information directly with the relevant inspection body.

In England the relevant inspection body is known as the Healthcare Commission and information on annual hospital reports can be sourced directly on www.healthcarecommission.org.uk

In Scotland information on hospitals annual inspection reports can be sourced directly from the Care Commission at www.carecommission.com

In Wales information on hospitals annual inspection reports can be sourced directly from the Care Standards Inspectorate For Wales at www.csiw.wales.gov.uk

In line with the specialist expertise of our recommended Consultant Surgeons, our recommended hospitals also need to provide expert theatre, recovery and ward facilities and resources to support the high standards of specialist surgery carried out.
Therefore, in addition to the above regulatory standards, all hospitals directly recommended by Surgical Advisor will also provide a minimum of the following clinical facilities and expert resources:-

• Twenty-four hour, seven day per week clinical services including Resident Medical Officer (RMO), in-house radiology and physiotherapy.
• Intensive Care or High Dependency facilities able to cope with emergencies or more seriously ill patients.
• Specialist 'State of the art' diagnostic technology, theatre equipment and instrumentation relevant to all specialist procedures provided.
• Attentive, caring and educated nursing expertise related to the specialist surgery and treatments provided.
• Comfortable and relaxing individual patient bedrooms featuring en-suite bathroom and toilet facilities, satellite television, radio, automated nurse call, adjustable height beds. 
• High standards of catering and meal choice suited to all specialist dietary requirements.
  Open visiting times for next of kin visitors and partners.
