Please be reassured that all surgeons recommended by Surgical Advisor will hold a minimum of the following qualifications, registered status and levels of surgical expertise:

• All recommended surgeons will be fully qualified Consultants Surgeon currently practising in both the NHS & Private Sector for a minimum of 2 years at Consultant Surgeon level.
• All recommended surgeons will be formally registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and formally accredited and registered as fit to practice in the UK as Consultant Surgeons in their chosen field. www.gmc-uk.org
• All recommended surgeons will be fully accredited UK trained surgeons with an appropriate range of general and specialist surgical training to merit the description of 'acknowledged expert' in their chosen specialist field. www.rcneng.ac.uk & www.rcsed.ac.uk.
• All recommended surgeons will be a registered member of an appropriate UK accredited professional body that verifies, supports and updates its members with continuous professional development in their specialist field.
• All recommended surgeons will posses an up-to-date professional portfolio and undergo a formal peer review audit and annual assessment to ensure that they are performing appropriate surgical procedures in sufficient volume and at continually high standards to merit the GMC's Specialist Registration.
• All recommended surgeons will work within a registered private hospital environment that continually delivers and demonstrates the very highest clinical standards. All recommended surgeons will therefore work in registered hospitals that meet or exceed the annual inspection requirements of the government's private hospital regulatory body known as the Healthcare Commission. www.healthcarecommission.org.uk
